The Organizing Committee and the Department of Anthropological Sciences of the University of Genoa are going to present some products and services. CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGSThey will be published in different versions. CD-ROMThe Conference Proceedings will be available on CD-ROM. They will include all the contributions submitted before the deadline and prepared to instructions. The high number of the expected papers (there are about 300 comunications on the agenda) makes it necessary to resort to the PC in order to consult the Proceedings. In this perspective, the possibility of examining papers through a user-friendly interface, of choosing publications according to one's personal interests or of looking for specific items using key words will prove extremely useful. Thanks to this CD-ROM, researchers and libraries will have the whole bulk of the Conference Proceedings at their disposal and will thus be able to consult them easily. The Databank will be made available to the scientific world through an Internet site. Created and permanently implemented by university researchers, lecturers and professors, it will certainly draw the attention - and perhaps the cooperation - of the scholars participating in the Conference. The Databank will be directed by Professor Guerci under the patronage of the Department of Anthropological Sciences and will contain original studies, unpublished material, photographs, videos and bibliographic references. It will also constitute a forum for the encounter, the dialogue and the exchange of experiences of researchers in the ethnomedical field. MUSEUM OF ETHNOMEDICINE "A. SCARPA"The University of Genoa hosts a precious ethnomedical collection started by Antonio Scarpa, an Italian physician and one of the first researchers in ethnomedicine. The collection is made up of the remains and documents gathered by the scholar during his field tours around the world and is rich of objects and original films and photographs. Further information on the Museum may be requested to the Department of Anthropological Sciences - University of Genoa. At the Conference demo versions of the above described multimedia products and of the Databank will be available. Also it will be possible to book the complete edition of the Proceedings and to subscribe to the Databank. |
